Jeff Corle

Jeff Corle is a unique combination of a seasoned country songwriter and farmer.  After growing up on the farm, he spent his formative years in Nashville, plying his trade as an Outlaw Country style singer-songwriter.  After experiencing "Nashville burn-out" he went back to his roots, returning home to run his family's dairy farm in rural western-Pennsylvania.  But when economic factors beyond his control forced him to shut down the dairy and sell his beloved Guernsey cows, he was left heartbroken and despondent.  In the midst of his heartache and pain he turned to an old friend for comfort - his guitar.  In the aftermath of having to say goodbye to the cows, Corle penned what would become his first viral hit, Empty Barn.  With the success of Empty Barn and the support of legions of new fans Corle kept writing and travelled back to Nashville to record his debut album "Farm Animal".  Life experiences- good and bad, have given him a strong and courageous voice.  He's a man who has something to say. . . and isn't afraid to say it.

"Nashville taught me how to write songs.  The farm gave me something to write about.  Farm Animal is the album I've been waiting to write all of my life."

Farm Animal

I've spent a lot of time in Nashville writing songs for other people.  When you do that, you have to write to a commercial standard.  You can't really "speak" with your own voice, especially if your voice tends to be on the bold side.  I learned to tamp down my real voice and "craft" vanilla radio friendly songs meant to appeal to as many people as possible.  I got really good at that kind of songwriting.  I had a lot of songs published and had my songs recorded by other artists.  But the whole thing left me kind of numb and unsatisfied which is why I left Nashville and went back to the farm.   It's also why so many country music fans have left country radio and found real artists, real songwriters, and real country music outside of mainstream country radio. Thanks for taking the time to find me.  I still know how to craft a well-written song but now I do it in my own voice, in my own style, and on my own terms.  I like to say that Nashville taught me how to write songs, but the farm gave me something to write about.
